the poblem is that the engine basically turns itself off while driving and all the dashboard lights also go off. There is no pattern to this it may happen when the car has been running for 5 minutes or an hour or not at all. There are also no error codes to be found. Sometimes you can restart straight away and other times you have to wait for a few minutes. Any suggestions would be appreciated

 

welcome to the forum, check to see that all the wires and connectors are secure and not loose. Check the firewall connectins, this is usually the cause for anytime anyplace hot/cold shut down. Check does not mean to look only, feel and push and pull or pull off, check for cleaness, and resecure.

 

spot on the main harness to computer was loose. Thanks for the help
