2006 Civic EX head gasket leak?
Hi there, I'm new to this forum and I'm hoping to learn a thing or two and solve my car problems!
So I have a Honda Civic 2006 EX that has had a history of engine overheat from the previous owner. Everything was fine until it started posting a P0128, which was supposedly due to a coolant issue. I took it to a mechanic who found an engine block crack which had dried coolant showing at the leak. I took it to Honda who kindly replaced the Engine block, and I picked it up and drove it fine for half a day.
That's when the new problem surfaced. I started up the car again after 5 hours, and it was pretty chilly weather. Got a humming noise that sounded like it was coming from the belt area. Did some homework and found that I was very low on Power Steering fluid. So I topped it up and voila, the noise was gone! But after letting the car idle for a good 15 minutes, I checked under the car and there was a pool of clear fluid that I'm confident is the Power Steering Fluid that I had just replaced, it was located under the passenger side, directly under the Power Steering Fluid tank.
Left it alone for a whole day, checked the fluid and it was indeed way down. Thought I'd fill it up some more and try to spot the leak, but then I'd noticed that my new clean engine block has fresh darkish fluid leaking down the front. I'll need to snap some pictures and verify if it's only leaking from the front.
I'm currently thinking that it might be a problem with the cylinder head gasket, but I'm wondering what other theories there might be. I will take it to a mechanic when I'm not so busy, but right now I just can't stop worrying about it!
Thanks all!

Hey lowlife9, yes it was done for free. Go look up Technical Service Bulletin 10-048. In summary, there is a ten year warranty from the original purchase date (the purchase date of the first owner). In my case the original owner bought it at the end of 2005, so I really lucked out. Thing is I don't think this included the head cylinder, which leads me to believe that the problem may have originated in the head cylinder to begin with, and that the cracked engine block was a coincidence. Either way I'm happy I got the free replacement.
