Default Car turned off on freeway

hello I need help pointing me in the right direction, I was driving home on the freeway and suddenly the car turned off while driving. no smoke no weird noises just turned off. at first I thought it might been the oil since it had previously been on and off but I was already going to do an oil change this weekend so I bought 2 quarts of oil and tries to start her up and it would crank and it seemed like it wanted to start and I gave it a little gas and it would keep it on a little bit until I stopped then it would turn off again. tried jumping the car and adding gas but they didn't work. thinking it might be fuel filter, starter, or maybe even spark plugs any help is gladly appreciated thanks! (99 civic si btw)

check to see if your timing belt is not stripped to cause the timing to be off. check to see if you have fuel pressure at the fuel rail. check to see if all wires to all sensors are attached.

Symptoms are close to a vacuum leak, may not be
Idles rough but smooths out when rev or rpm is higher
Come to a stop and it quits

Do a visual inspection of the air intake system
Clean out the throttle with carb or brake cleaner
Locate EGR and clean (a dirty EGR is highly suspect)
