civic idle problems
Just Recently, My Radiator Cap Broke Off Inside Of My Radiator, Letting Water Out. I Didnt Notice It Running Hot Until I Smelled It, I Immediately Pulled Over And Got A New Cap, And Ever Since Then Ive Been Having Problems. It Would Get Hot Very Fast After Warming Up, And It Would Blow A White Smoke Out Of The Exhaust That Smelled Like Burning Oil, So I Thought It Was The Head. Also, It Would Turn Off When It was Idling After Warming Up. I Just Replaced The Radiator And The Head In It. It Fixed The Problem With It Running Hot, But It Is Still Shutting Down When Its In Idle After Warming Up For A Few Minutes. Any Solutions? Thanks.

RE: civic idle problems
welcome to the forum, have you bled your coolent system of airbubbles, check the egr valve for debri or sticking, check all vaccum lines for possible leaks ( you can use starting fluid, and if there is a line leak, the idle ill increase.) check your idle control valve.

RE: civic idle problems
possible clogged oil filter, scavange pump ( oil pump) oil screen clogged with carbon, this would be from an engine that did not have regular oil changes, also the heated engine could cause lots of carbon debri dropping into the oil pan. check your oil filter if it has a lot of carbon or debri. Bit hard to see.
