Default Engine Block Repair

Hi Everyone,

My 2006 Honda Civic (156,000 miles) stopped one day. Took the car to a Honda Dealer and was informed about the 'engine block'. Honda dealer quoted $6,500 to fix. I got with Honda Corp for assistance. Now the Honda dealer wants to charge approx. $10,000 to fix the engine because per se these parts needs to be replaced also (spark plugs, coils, manifold, timing chain, etc). I kept the maintenance up on the car. The spark plugs, oil, and coils were changed before the car went to the Honda dealer. Also, the Honda dealer is only going to provide a one year/12,000 mile warranty on the parts and repairs.

I know I'm getting riped-off and a double slap with the warranty.

I need some advice on this situation.

welcome to the forum. look up in ebay or any salvage yard or on google to find yourself another complete low milage engine complete. find a honda shop, not the dealer to have the engine replaced. engine cost approx 650.00 complete, some have trans with them. engine remove and replace approx 500.00 any dealer who thinks to charge 6500 for an engine is not a good dealership or 10k for a car worth 4000.00 in good running condition. or you can just sell the car for 1000.00 and get another running car. salvage yard will give you a 90 day warranty. also check in yelp or google and find the ratings at the shop for how they are with customers and workmenship.

You just need to buy another complete engine in any of stores and find no dealer but just garage service Honda. And I am sure, there will help you there!
