Default Fan Motor not working

Hi for the past 3 weeks, I have been having trouble with the heat,,sometimes its there, other times not...now the blower is not working...other than the fuse..which I will check next..what else could be causing this? The blower sometimes will work at LOW speed..when I turn it up...it shuts off... so not sure if there is an electical problem...a Thermostat or a blower motor? Thank you for any comments and suggestions Its a 2002 Civic EX...139k Otto

welcome to the forum. there is a resistor in the airduct near the fan. If you go to hondaautomotiveparts.com you will see the location of the resistor. I just changed on my 02 civic. the fan began to work perfect. It was cutting in and out, work at times then not at all. I believe it may be called a thermister.

Default No Heat during Idle?

I fixed the blower fan with the resistor..I was beginning to see something else happening; while I am at idle, the warm AIR turns colder...when I drive above 3-40 the heat comes back? Its a Civic EX 2002 139k I had the timing belt and water pump replaced last year at 115,000 and all associated parts..I do NOT know if the thermostat was replaced? Is this what is causing this or something else? Thank you Otto

When the water pump was replaced there could be an air pocket in the heating system, or the pump had less impellers than the stock so less water circulation, or thermostat could be staying open when it should close as the water gets colder.
