Can this be done?
We have a new 2023 Honda Hybrid Accord. The car is basically quite good (but don't get me started on the various user interface items...), but the other day when I opened the driver's door (while I was in the car with the key in my pocket) the door chime started sounding. Question: Is there some way to turn this off, preferably a method that could be reversed. Thanks.

If this was a key start and you had your key in the ignition then the chime would come on
This is similar to that situation. It is a reminder that you might not have the key.
If you want to change this then see owner's manual or call dealership

You are not understanding my post. A similar situation is with a key in the ignition.
It chimes to let you know there is a key there.
When you have the door open, you may not have the smart key (FOB) in your pocket.
The chime acts as a reminder to let you know you may be leaving without the key
If you want that chime to stop then you should check the owner's manual or call the dealer.
They would know if you can.

I figure out the problem: I had turned the light switch to position between auto and on not sure what it is called) and did not turn it off. Thus, when I opened the door, the car chimed, but I saw nothing to indicate that the lights were on, lights included…
