can anyone help me with how to remove the clothing hanger in the rear of the car? I’m trying to install a trailer wiring harness, but when I attempt to pull out the plastic panel, I am unable to move it far enough out due to the hook.

Does that hook lever out like a door handle? If so look to see if the small panel can be prayed out,there maybe a release under it.

When I flip the hook up, you can see this white plastic piece inside. There are no screws and the housing for the hook is all one molded piece.

Try popping off the trim around the hook with a thin blade screw driver" gently". See what it covers ,it may be hiding a release.
