Hoping someone can help. At the end of last season, my 9.9 hp started dying while back trolling. Pretty much back troll at idle. When it dies it like it is just shut off. Will usually start with just one pull and idle for a few minutes up to 15-20 then die again. I don't have to pump the bulb or do anything so I'm not sure why it is dies. Runs fine at speed and does not die. Also turned idle up a bit with no change and tried fresh fuel.

Any ideas? Up to this point, this thing has been rock solid and even starts on first pull after sitting all winter.

Is it a two for four stroke? Does it run well with the hood off? I was having a similar issue on my four stroke and it turned out to be a bad exaust gasket. Exaust coming back up into the hood and choking out the carb.
