I have done the diode meter test, but I am not sure how to interpret the results. Should the numbers be about the same in both directions? I get consistent but very different numbers in each direction.

 

A diode is a rectifier or a device that only allows current to travel in one direction.
When out of circuit, the diode test should show a very high resistance in one direction and very low resistance in the other direction
When testing in circuit, it is hard to tell because of the other components in the circuit.
Would assume they should be different but do not know for sure.
