1984-1986 Elite 125/150 restoration
Hello again. Well it's been a while since I posted. The 150 still awaiting resurrection and the 125 now bogging badly thinking the carb intake is shot. Are there any aftermarket intakes they can use with a bolt on carb upgrade? Those plastic/ rubber things are shot and finding a NOS original won't be any better from age deteriorating even on a shelf. I was hoping to get a slightly larger carb and metal intake to upgrade both bikes. Wife decided she doesn't want one so I'm probably turning the 84 into a 85 150 Deluxe by swapping the engines. The 1985 150 is complete and in good shape as well as the seat cover is still intact. So thinking of selling it with the 125 motor or parting it out. I live in central Florida. Both radiators are good and have fresh fluid in them. I'm going to take the mufflers and custom bend a few pipes to weld to modern day mufflers so we can have something updated, and no I won't ask a fortune for one I'd rather see more on the road than just a few. Upgrading disc brakes in front from a cheap Chinese knockoff scooter I have but rear drum will stay. Going to completely change the electrical system to current 150cc electronics to hopefully increase efficiency. Both bikes have roughly just over 6000 miles on them and compression is great. Fully restored and on the road these are still the best scooters out there in the small class because of being liquid cooled. Helix and 250 of course are best large scooters on the road in their class. The 150 body is blue on blue for anyone interested in it or parts, and it has the Honda trunk on it as well. Trades welcome too if you are on a budget like me. Hit me up and we can exchange numbers so I can text pictures.
those rubber intakes are available on ebay, i'm pretty sure brand new from china. i don't know where you will find a metal one. also i would keep honda stuff on the hybrid or how is the person going to find replacement parts? you should swap over the engine electronics because they may have timing curves, etc for the motor to run right.
