Default Crank but no start

'97 CR-V

Recently replaced water pump with help from a friend mechanic. Now after making sure everything is TDC and put back together, got crank, spark, and fuel, but no start. After checking a few common things for no start, took off the valve cover and check the timing belt. My question is can a single tooth gap of lack between cam gears can cause my no start?

Record what it sounds like while cranking and post it so I can hear it.

So what has happened? Did you look into this more?
Check for fuel, spark, injector pulse, compression, etc??
