03 Pilot Transmission Range Sensor Need Help PART 2
Hi all, I posted earlier about P & D being illuminated upon ignition. I thought I had a bad neutral safety switch, and replaced it but my pilot still wouldn't start. I did some further research and I think I may have misdiagnosed the problem based on what I thought was abnormal dash warning lights.
When I put the key in and rotate to acc, the P and D light both illuminated, after 2 seconds the D light went out and when I turned the key to start, nothing. All the interior lights and accessories worked but it would not crank. I was so hung up on seeing the D light illuminated, I thought that was the problem, Betty (my Pilots name) thought she was still in D.
Further research indicated that maybe what I was seeing on the dash was NORMAL. So my question is, what do the gear indicator lights on the dash do upon key insertion and starting the vehicle?
For clarification, here is what I get now with the new neutral safety switch
1) I put key in and it move it to I, the P illuminates.
2) Rotate the key to II and the D illuminated for 2 seconds.
3) move the key to III and nothing. Won't crank at all.
If it's not the neutral safety switch, perhaps a starter? Any advice would greatly appreciated.
Thanks
~C
