Default Installed roof rails and tailgate gasket keeps pulling up the hinge covers

I recently the roof rails on my 2016 Honda Pilot. We are going on vacation and need the extra storage space. I followed the instructions perfectly and everything looked as good as possible given the set up of the moldings. It worked great for a while, then yesterday when I opened the door the rubber gasket that is on the spoiler grabbed the hinge cover and ripped it off. I order new hinge covers to replace these and will have them soon. So until then I just used double sided tape to secure them. But now the rubber gasket is loose and hangs out. I would like to take off the spoiler and reset the gasket. I found all of the bolts but I can't get it off and I do not want to break anything and be worse off than I am. It seems to be a problem from what i have been reading. Anyone else have this problem and know a fix?

Sounds like your local dealer could help you with that issue under warranty if its a Genuine Honda Roof rail install
