Default 2011 CRV - 3rd - FWD Oil Leak - Transmission or CV shaft?

Hi,

I just got a 2011 - 107k miles CRV which I love so far. I am making sure everything is good (new oils, filters, shock absorbers,...)
But,... I have this annoying oil leak (still not dropping in the garage) around the transmission differential CV shaft, driver side. I am not sure this is the transmission seal or fluid from the CV shaft itself.

I also notice a bit of play in the CV shaft inside the transmission, which worries me, cause I think is a bit too much play.

I made a video showing the leak and the play in the CV shaft tip (3:52). The CV boot is not broken.

Hopefully someone has seen something similar in their vehicles

Cheers!

welcome to the forum. only time i have seen this type of leak is when the half shaft transmission seals are starting to leak due to ware, also seen when the grease in the boot start to breakdown due to high heat. but most of the time it is from the seal. you can clean all the oil off the boots and trans, check the fluid level and drive it to see how long it takes to get wet, and check to see if the fluid level has dropped.
