Looking at rebuild my breaks. However the rebuild kits are crazy expensive. Here are the Honda part numbers. Anyone familiar with these are manufacturers that are equivalent that cost less.

Part No.: 01463-TX4-A01

Caliper Set, FR.
$26.75

Part No.: 01473-TLA-A50
Caliper Set, RR
$102.05

What's wrong with the prices?

The price for one rear caliper is over 100 USD. On 2017 CRVs it is 26USD. Note, that is per side.

So at the price, I can buy aftermarket whole calipers. And what am I getting for the 100 USD, an O-ring seal and a boot? This is nothing but price-gauging by the manufacturers or the vendors.

Just Curious, Why would a 2017 need all four calipers rebuilt?

From a safety standpoint, for brakes I stick with OEM. The rebuild kits should contain new pistons along with the seals.

From a budget perspective, try e-bay but please do be cautious.

My CR-V is a 2019. The left rear boot doesn't look that healthy. The other ones are fine. Additionally, the OEM kits do not include a piston: just a boot and an o-ring. With that said, for a kit for one side to cost over 100 USD is outrageous. As far a maintenance, if I do one side, I always do the other side, and if I do one, I like to do all. It doesn't take that much effort to do a rebuild. The most difficult part is getting that stupid wire off the rear caliper. My scan tool retracts the piston BTW. ALSO, for Honda Calipers, I prefer to always go with OEM. I'm in Germany, and I pretty much have to order everything through the mail. It isn't like I can run down to the local auto parts store and get parts for an American SPEC car.

Looks like your mention of a 2017 in post #4 led me astray.

Sooo it is a 2019 of undisclosed model and mfg plant. Also not specified is if it is a piston or pin boot.

If it is a piston boot, doing a pair makes sense. Doing all four and shedding wallet tears over the cost does not.

If it’s just a pin boot, getting an aftermarket cheapo kit makes more sense.

Since you went down the 2017 road, there is a difference in seal kits hence the price difference.

Good Luck
