Finally starting to sort out my 2000 CRV {2wd). It has an intermittent overheating issue which I am just starting to diagnose..
I've removed the radiator and fans. The condenser fan shroud seems to be a poor fit. Is this typical? (See pic).
The shroud is metal and smaller than the radiator area and the right edge of the shroud rides on the radiator fins.
It looks like the parts I've seen online, the mounting bolts are aligned, and the tang fits the grove on the bottom.
But it sure seems like a poor fit. The metal-on-metal just seems like a bad idea.
Is this the way it's supposed to be?
Thanks for your comments.
Charles 2000 CRV condenser fan on radiator
the fan appears to be an after market fan made in tailand. you can put a rubber seal or felt strip glued on to the fan side to prevent metal to metal or go to a salvage yard for a good used replacement.
