Default CRV 2024 Crackling/popping sound underneath on Freeway

I have a CRV, 2024 Sport. Sometimes when I drive on the freeway, there is a loud crackling, or popping noise that comes from underneath the car. Sometimes it sounds like it’s on the right side, sometimes on the left side. It usually happens after I’ve been driving it for about 30 minutes on the freeway, seems to be somewhat affected by wind coming from underneath.

I have taken it into the dealer and when they test drive it, they don’t hear the noise. I even took them on a long test drive once, and it happens a little, but it only happens sometimes. Lately it’s been happening more and more.

I even tried taking off the cheap fiberglass/plastic cover underneath, that made it a little bit better for a while. However, now it is back and always crackling when I’m on the freeway. It’s very frustrating because I love Hondas and have always own them, but it’s always been a quiet ride!

Please help if you have any suggestions thank you so much.

welcome to the forum. If your car is under warranty, Document all the info possible, time of day, temp, weather condition, miles driven, road condition, try to record the noise on your phone, speed, etc. this will help the dealership service dept to perhaps find the noise and fix it. then give the service dept time to test drive the vehicle themselves to find the noise.
