Question Dashboard Battery Light

Battery Light '03 CR-V Startup in the morning and battery light comes on. Only charging at 12 volts. Start driving and light goes off and charging at 14 volts. 2 days later same thing however at 50 mph light comes on only charging at 11.8 volts then light goes off and charging at 14 volts again. Whatever the problem is, it's progressing. Alternator? Serpentine? Sensor? Any ideas?

Honda uses an ELD which senses the electrical load.
The ELD determines the state the alternator is in.
This helps to reduce the load the alternator puts on the engine
Which in turn helps saves gas.
My suspicions are that the ELD is not functioning correctly
Whether this is due to wiring issue or just a faulty sensor .. don't know.

welcome to the forum. it could be your electrical load detector, or the alternator.

Does anyone know when Honda started using the ELD?
