Default Gas in Oil

Hello I am new to the group and I was looking at purchasing a newer model CR-V but I have read complaints about gasoline in the oil with the new 1.5L Turbo and nothing I have found has said it has been corrected. Does this affect all of the 1.5L Turbo engines and all years 2017 and later?

Thanks,
Jim

welcome to the forum. this gas in the oil looks to effect only cold climate places. have not read much on warm climate. suggest if you live in a cold climate area to call Honda dealership direct and talk with the service manager before getting a cr-v 1.5 turbo if no fix, No purchase.

Have heard the 1.5 turbo engine can be of concern. It had GDI or gas direct injection and on top of that there is the turbo. Both contribute to the higher pressure the piston rings see. And so some gas might leak past the rings. This is less likely to happen in places where the climate does not vary as much. But, with everything one buys, caveat emptor. Let the buyer be ware.

Just FYI. I have a 2019 (cold climate) and just removed 8 liters of gas oil mix on last oil change. This is double the oil i put in. Oil was changed on time (15% remaining by oil life monitor). Oil analysis shows massive wear metals in oil. NOT happy!

Crap... My Daughter in Law is in the process of buying a Used 2018 CRV EX-L to replace a totaled 2012 CRV form an accident just this week. Fortunately, no Bodily harm, just metal. She was the last of a 4 car Pile up on the way to work. Her two baby girls were already dropped off at Preschool...
Anyway, I had heard of this Gas in the oil for the 2017+ CRVs. I would have thought it was corrected, but this post is concerning. She is stubborn cookie, only wants a Honda and he CRV suits here very well. The pilot is "too Big" for her. Does this Oil/ Gas thing affect all the CRVs with the 1.5T engine? More concerning is that one of the posters is talking about a 2019 model !!

Almatti: the gas mix in oil mostly pertains to cr-v's in cold weather area. with the 1.5 turbo.
