The 2017-2018 CRV with the 1.5 liter turbo can develop an oil dilution problem. Gasoline is getting in the oil and making the level rise. My car is 2 months old and the oil level is now startin* to pass the highest dot. I will be going to the dealer this week. I have had 2 instances where I smell gas in the cabin after turning on the heat.
folks, check the internet and you will see several articles on this. Go to car complaints. Go to Facebook and type 2017-2017 Honda CRV and read the posts. I’m hoping that Honda can come up with a solution soon. This is a very dangerous problem that can lead to engine failure or worse. Can you imagine your engine blowing while driving on a highway with your children?

Rule 1 when changing oil:
Forget numbers, and check with the dipstick.
Manuals can be (and usually are) wrong about something (because of typos, old information, etc.).
You will also usually find widely varying numbers on the web.
Your dipstick was engineered to be accurate, even though exact amounts of oil required can very between engines depending on exact construction, and wear.
So do as the Castrol guy says, and think with your dipstick!
