When the ignition key in my wife's 2015 CRV is turned,the car will not start. And when the key is taken out and put in with the other side facing the driver, the car will start sometimes. But when the wheel is turned a little to the right while cranking, the car starts consistantly no matter what side of the key is facing the driver. And the parking brake is never on while cranking. What could be causing that?

 

ignition switch if the key chain has a few extra keys, this will also cause the switch to fail. common fault.

Can you watch the dash and see if the immobilizer light goes off while cranking??
