2014 Honda CRV Transmission
Hello all,
I am new to the forum and had a quick question that I was hoping to get guidance on.
I have a 2014 Honda CRV with 105,000 miles. I am a typical urban commuter driver - mostly stop and go on the interstate after 20-30 miles of highway cruising. Recently, I have noticed a little wiggle in the petal when shifting at low gears (normally occurs around 20-30 mph). Also, the car occasionally shifts a little hard at low gear.
When I first purchased the car (at 52,000 miles), this was a problem (and actually much worse than now). I took it to the dealer as it was under warranty. They changed transmission fluid and reprogrammed the software, and I was told if the problem returned then I would need a new torque converter. The fluid change and software update dramatically helped the problem.
As the problem has/is returned/returning, I am wondering if I should have the unit totally serviced - remove all old fluid, clean filter, etc (I would guess $200-300 or so). Or if there is something else I should do. My thoughts are if I go into the dealer and tell them the problem, they may try to up sell me to some obscene amount of work.
Thank you in advance

welcome to the forum. i would look for a transmission shop that knows honda transmission, and have the fluid changed. it is not possible to change all the fluid in the transmission, the torque converter does not have a drain like some transmissions have, so it takes about 3 fluid changes to completely change the fluid. a true honda knowledgeable transmission shop knows that ALL Honda Transmission must use Honda trans fluid only, nothing else. this might help your trans. if not, you may be looking at a trans overhaul or good used trans replacement. do not flush the system. change the fluid only.
