We purchased this Accord a few months ago for our son who just started driving. He is devastated. The AC is no longer working.
This is what happened… he went to start it one morning and there was a very loud noise coming from the belt area. We could not figure it out but a few minutes later of turning the car off/on, a bit of smoke started coming out from the compressor area and the AC inside does also have a light burnt smell.
This is what I have done… I can confirm that the clutch engages just not sure if it is transferring power completely (speed). We noticed there’s rubber material sticking out from the clutch which I presume to be what burned out (pic below). I also measured the refrigerant pressure and the low has 85-90 PSI and high has about the same (pics below) at an ambient of 70F.
Based on everything I am reading it seems there’s plenty of refrigerant but the compressor is not doing anything so is shot?
Is there still a chance that it is just the clutch engages? But again, it does engage when AC is turned on.
Why did that rubber part burn and sticks out? I haven’t seen anyone with that problem in the forums.
Greatly appreciate your feedback!
Regards, Mario.

Your high and low sides are near equal. That means the compressor is not working.
If the clutch is burnt that would do it but there's no way to know if the innards of the compressor are good without inspection.
BTW 90 pounds static is about right.
