Please help!! Problem with a 99 Accord Lx
At first my car would just stall every once in a while. I brought it to a mechanic and he said it was my distributor. So I had him change my distributor, the cap, and the rotor. Well after spending a few hundred that is not the problem. Now it doesn't start the first time, it takes 2-5 times and it finally starts. And yes it still stalls once in a while too. Does anyone have a clue as to what is wrong with my car?
Thanks!!!

Aloha and Welcome to the forum,
when was the last time you had the car tuned up, other than having the distributor, etc changed? Could be your fuel filter, or pressure, air filter clogged, throttle body control dirty. Do you have a service manual for your car to help you check these items. Helms, hanes, chilton. Ebay or local auto parts house may have them in stock. One of these is good.

Does the hard start occur on HOT days? When you say 'stall' do you mean your foot is on the gas and its slow to move?
I had similiar experiences...dealer rec $1,000 worth of work forums suggested that I change main relay ($50) and she been doing ppuuurfect every since!

RE: Please help!! Problem with a 99 Accord Lx
Had the same issue with a used 99 Accord LX that I bought. Stalled on the freeway on my way home and was not able to start it back up and barely made it to the side of the road. After about 10 tries it started again and was able to make it back home. Does your car start and die right away? Did some research and found out there was a recall on the 1999 Honda Accord ignition switch. Contact Honda at 1-800-999-1009 and provide them your VIN number. If it has never been replaced, Honda will do it free of charge. Had mine replaced and the problem has not re-occured. Good luck.
