Happy New Year! I am newbie in this forum. I have a 94 Accord with an automatic transmission. Everytime I start the car in the morning and shift to gear to leave the garage (either in "R" or "D"), the car wont budge (tranny doesnt shift). I still have to rev up the engine while my other foot is on the brakes. It takes about 2-3 rev-ups before the tranny would shift. I would drive it the whole day and wouldnt have a any problem with the tranny shifting. I checked the dipstick for the tranny oil (located deep down beside the engine block) and the oil is within the recommended level. Is this a filter problem? a pump problem? a mechanical one? Hope someone may be able to help me out on this.

 

welcome to the forum, have you serviced the transmission filter each 30k miles? fluid and filter?
