Default Honda Civic LX 2004 Timing belt

My lovely Honda has about 131k miles, it is never driven more than about 100 miles at a time and has been taken care of. I have only driven it about 85-90k miles since I got the car in 2010.

I plan on driving from Texas to Michigan next month and need to know if I will be safe to make that trip without getting the timing belt changed. I really can't afford that extra cost right now, but if I need to then I guess I have no choice in that matter.

Any help would be so amazing! I don't know a lot about cars.

welcome to the forum. I would advise you to have the belt changed, you are on grace time for the belt change. "0" clearence will eat your valves and punch holes in your piston if the belt fails. You now have 12yrs of weather check on the belt besides milage.

your like 30,000 miles past due which means your running on borrowed time. if that belt skips or breaks your engine is done.
