Spraying lube into the lock, did you jiggle the key and try inserting the key several times.
The gear selector should be able to shift if you can find the release.
Usually a little tab near by the gear selector needs to be removed
Then inside there is a release that needs to be move
That should release the gear selector.

 

Even, locksmith can't do much with the gears but they can resolve the ignition keys issue easily.
