Am having Honda Civic model 2006.

i had just changed my battery but each time am trying to start-up the car and switched on the RPM goes dead - i mean its start for a second them it goes off.
I had even connect the battery and try to charge it from another car but the problem is the same , the car is not starting at all.

what is the problem ?

 

Welcome to the forum. Is the 3yr 36k warranty still good on the car? Check to make sure the batt terminals are clean. Does the engine crank and no start, or turn key nothing happens. What is your milage. need a bit more info please.

 

no the warrenty is over. - car done 78,000 Km
Batt terminals are clean.
The engine crank , after trying to turn on the car by the key the rpm reach 1,000 then it goes down back to 0 - the car is not working after that.

I asked a friend of mine and he told me that the car securitiy system is the reason and it need to be re-programmed again as the car is not recognizing the key , so is this possible and this is how the car acts in case it didnt recognize its own key ?

 

just for info, if it was the security system, the key turned on will not even turn the engine over. ( like a dead battery, silent ) Listed are the items that you can check on your car for eng rotates but no start. distributor/ignitor, fuel pump not pumping fuel, worn spark plugs-wires going bad, main relay is bad, or the ECU is bad. When was your last tune up, You mentioned the rpm goes to 1000 then dies, does this mean you turn the key, it starts up, release the key and the engine dies right away? or when you turn the key, the starter turns the engine (still not running) to 1000rpm and key off, starter off, engine never started on its own?
