Exclamation problems after changing eld sensor

Hi everyone! I recently replaced an ELD sensor in my '04 Honda Civic, and ever since then I am having to use my key to override the gear shift lock manually in order to shift the car out of park. Also, I have noticed that when I lock my car with the key fob, it no longer beeps and I can't set my clock on the dash either. Does anyone have any insight as to whether the replacement of the ELD sensor could be related to any of these issues? Thanks!

Don't know for sure ...

Modern cars use a CAN-BUS system
So the ELD (electrical load detector) speaks to the alternator, ECU, body control module and all other components through the can-bus
If the new ELD is glitchy then it can cause mis reads to/from other components
But, this is only a guess. Probably wrong.
