2003 Metro No start
I bought a 2003 Metro last night. Before I started trying to fix the primary issue (no fuel to the carb), the electrical was fine. I would turn the key on, lights on, would turn over, but the battery was weak.
While looking into the fuel issue, I had a charger on the battery. I found a kinked fuel line after the fuel pump and fixed that. I didn't mess with anything else other than removing the storage compartment/seat. Now, when I turn the key, the taillight and instrument light flash on and off and nothing else will happen. It won't turn over, no lights, nothing.
I found a post about resetting the ECM and I did that. The manual says connect the blue/yellow wire to +12V. Turn key on and headlight turns on. Disconnect wire from 12V and headlight goes out. To this point it follows the directions. After I remove the wire from 12V, a few seconds later I hear a relay click, but the headlight never comes back on. So it seems the ECM doesn't finish writing the data. I waited for quite a while.
Someone please help me with what to look for. I am struggling to find answers to this issue.
Thanks,
Dee

I just looked a bit more and noticed that there are 2 electrical plugs disconnected. The guy told me he had the carburetor replaced, and I can see that it doesn't have a throttle position sensor or the other sensor on the back of the carb. But he said it was running just a few days ago and just stopped running. I'm guessing it stopped running because of the kinked fuel line.
How would it have been running without the these sensors? Is there a way to trick the system and make it run without them?
