im working on a 06/99 odessy. it will not start. my scanner says no communication when i plug it in. i do not know anything about it except what he said... sometimes it will start and it runs good when it does. most of the time it will not start. just spins over....
any help would be greatly appreciated

 

Welcome to the forum,well it could be several things,electrical,Igintion or fuel. if it's spinning is it spinning fast enough?Are you getting fuel? How about spark?

 

its spinning fast enough. it did start up twice and idled up and down between 1300 and 2000 rpm. didnt sound like a miss. i noticed a green key on the cluster when i turned it off and every time i have tried it since then i dont see the key.. is the ecm not getting power? my scanner is not communicating with it when it doesnt start but will when its running..???

i pulled the covers off the column checking all the connections. the arm that is beside the shifter is broke. and i noticed that the little arm moves when i turn the key sometimes...
when it moves the motor starts..... when it doesnt.... no start.... i tapped on the ign switch above the cylinder and the arm moved. the car started. but again no movement no start.. i tapped a few more times when it moved it will start. so what am i looking at???????
