Default 1990 Accord Cruise Control help

I am having issues with the cruise control on my 90' accord. For the past year or so the cruise would work fine then suddenly shut off (as did the cruise light on the dash). Prior to this, it would occasionally loose speed but would speed back up if I used the accel. button. Now I can't even get the cruise light to come on when I try to set it. Anyone have any suggestions? I have heard that the brake light switch may cause problems, but would that make it act like it did? What can I do to get my cruise back without replacing a bunch of stuff that I don't need to???

Thanks!
