Default vacuum hose

I have an 89 accord that will start but stall once you slow down or brake. I feel like its something with the vacuum hose for the carb or just a vac hose. I was hoping for a little insight about what it could be. Also how could I test this without spending a bunch of money. Thanks

a quick way to test it would be to look at your vacuum hoses and see if they are any cracks. a vacuum pump with gauge is around 40 with various adapters. not sure with the older hondas but see if there is an idle adjust. if not then make sure your basics are covered. air filter, spark plugs, plug wires and electrical all within specs via ohm meter. might want to clean your intake manifold. also put injector cleaner in your tank and run it. i thought the last year for carbs was back in 84. if it has a carb then i'd clean out your jets with a strong burst of compressed air.

hope this helps
