Default 2013 Civic: Dashboard lights don't light when I open the door

Hi-
Civic 2013 LX 4 door Sedan, purchased used 08/16, <32k miles

This started happening just within the past few days, and is intermittent, unfortunately.

Sometimes when I open my driver door, whether I'm outside the car or sitting in it, the dashboard lights, including the tachometer, Honda logo and ignition remain dark until I start the car. The interior dome light works normally and the car starts and runs fine. I took my car to a dealer for an unrelated tire issue and described the problem, but unfortunately we couldn't replicate it. He said he hadn't heard of a similar problem and couldn't think what might cause it.

Has anyone experienced anything like this or know what it might be? I just had the car serviced before this started happening, and the battery checks out fine.

Thanks!

-Susan

I guess this is a really uncommon issue. I called the dealer I purchased the car from & they haven't heard of it either. Roughly every other time I open the door (either from inside or outside) those dash lights don't come on. I'm concerned that it's symptomatic of a larger electrical system issue to come, but I guess there's nothing to do about it unless things get worse.

Thanks-

-Susan
