03 Pilot Transmission Range Sensor Need Help
My 03 pilot displayed P and D on the dash. All the accessories worked but it wouldn't crank wouldn't start. My mobile mechanic and I did some homework and deduced it was the transmission range sensor (neutral safety switch). I got a new sensor, plugged it in (but didn't install it) and rotated the sensor to Park. I verified the sensor was working as it would now display other gears besides P and D. It would show D1 and D, D2 and D and so on and so forth. But I still can't get the D to stop illuminating, there for, it still won't start. I disconnected the battery for 30 min to clear the ECU. Other leads suggested that I need to clear the body control unit. How do I do that and is that a good course of action? Any other ideas. The unit is just resting on the engine, all trouble shooting was done while it was hooked up but not installed.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
